Pros
Ceramic will typically hold in a bit more heat, not a lot but just enough to notice. Stainless turns all sorts of pretty colors.
Cons,
Ceramic doesn't "Look as cool"
Stainless turns all sorts of pretty colors.
With the same design of header, there isn't really much of a difference performance wise, but Ceramic does lower under hood temps a bit.
As far as style, Stainless will look really cool, till it gets hot and turns blue, gold, yellow, brown, ect ect ect..... and as an added bonus, where ever you touch the thing with out having gloves/sleves on your oil will be left behind and burn in to the header. Its fun to see fingerprints burnt in to a Stainless header.

FlyRiceRacer02, I've heard of that happining. but It's never happend to me. who knows? I have a Ceramic header, and if it doesn't crack in the next year, that will make 2 years running! Well see I guess. I hope it doesn't.

the only difference is stainless steel is shiney and a good choice if you want to look good in shows. ceramic is just not shiney, they both have the same performance gains.

Ceramic will stay cooler than stainless. I have heard that ceramic does tend to crack but it isn't the whole thing that cracks just the ceramic outer coating so it should still be ok. Also I have heard that the stainless steel tends to warp after prolonged exsposure to heat. I have heard this from many different websites and that is why I would go with the ceramic over stainless.

ceramic ones wont change colors thats why i went with them. The gains are the same plus the rainbow colors dont go with anythingat least ceramic goes with anything
I heard about the stainless steel ones cracking before ceramic because they tend to get hotter and stay hotter than ceramic
I heard about the stainless steel ones cracking before ceramic because they tend to get hotter and stay hotter than ceramic We are typically are seeing over a 200°F temperature drop in the surface temp with Team Synergy Coatings TCB-107 Chrome Like. Recently did a cross over pipe that Merlin Muffler(Appleton) reported a 365°F drop (old vs new coated). This ceramic coating will not crack or turn blue like chrome, nor colors like SS. As a mater of fact the ceramic coating works extreamly well on SS and you don't have to polish it to keep the shine. By coating the SS it will be less likely to crack as the temperatures are reduced. We have a 3 year warrantee against coating failure on new pipes.

yup much cooler temps under hood. I can put my hand very close to my kamikaze and it won't burn me after driving hard. And the header is still made of metal and won't crack. Its just the coating thats ceramic. And yes it still looks very nice. Better than SS with rainbow.

Well, instead of me having to go out and buy a new ceramic header. Can I just get my DC sports SS ceramic coated? If so, where can I get this done?

actually it came like that and was alot shinier new (like chrome). The heat made it dull but still looks cool. its the hi luster ceramic type.

A good ceramic coating is not something one would want do for oneself. It takes a bunch of dedicated equipment and a good size oven that can hold at least 650°F.
A rule of thumb for any of the Chrome Like ceramic coatings is: "The better the shine the better the seal." Go with the best!
