Colormatching Paint for Headlights?
Colormatching Paint for Headlights?
I'm workin on my next project after the wheels come mid Sept. I will be putting whtie CCFL in place of the LED angel eye on my projector, making them HID, and I also want to paint them to match the car.
Meaning I want the part of the housing that is chrome colored to be color matched to my car. MY issue is the heat genereated by the bulbs so close to the paint. Is there even such a thing as just putting a high temp clear coat on the paint to coat it or is there a color match heat resistant paint I can use??? I think the look would be sick having projectors with the interior matching the car like on a Ferrari.

i painted my stock lights using NHBP color match in a aerosol can. Its been like that since Jan and i havent had any problems. If your using an automotive paint, you will need an automotive clearcoat (also made in aerosol cans if needed) When it comes to temp from the HID's i dont know, and i dont think many people will have an experienced answer. If you try it and it doesnt work, you can always remove the paint and do something else, but the chrome will be shot. by the way, your pics arent showing up.
