Installing fibreglass kit? Help?

I posted this in another forum and have had no response. I am asking that if anyone has any info it would greatly be appreciated.

To anyone that has done this or has helped do this. I am in the process of buying a kit and I know I see on the net and from people that these kits take a little work to get them to fit properly? Is it something I can do myself or do a need a shop to do it? the other question is when I get the kit do I try to make it fit before I paint it? like test fit it, then touch up and paint? I would really like some info from any of you that might have experience in this area. Thanks.

You're going to have to see what you have before you can decide that. Some kits are easier than others. Maybe if you tell us what kit you are getting, someone can help.

Well fiberglass kits will almost always require a test fit. I would highly recommend a test fit because you can be sure that it will fit before painting it. Second some places can paint match if you install it and have it painted while on the car. Third if you dont fit it first and pay to paint it then have to force fit it on you could be dealing with spider cracks and things of that nature. This goes for just about any FG kit on the market

Thanks for the info, I am looking at the octane kit. I was wishing that the blitz kit would come out for our cars but I am sick of waiting and I think the octane is my next choice. I would like a urathane kit or at least front bumper, but it only comes in fibreglass. But I am hopping to get this bought and painted within about a month or so so I have it for most of the summer.
