Question Body Kit Question...

I know there is two kinds of body kits I have seen. Polyurethane (Sp?) and Fiberglass. My question is, what is the main differnece (besides the Urethane being stronger). Does the urethane flop around on the car (I have seen this before) or is it pretty solid usually. And does it paint better, the same or worse than FiberGlass? Oh, and does this choice really only matter when it comes to accidently running into things with the ody kit? Thanks for any info

In my experience which may not be true for every situation
but from what ive seen: Urethane is more flexable and easier to
fit on the car, less hassels. Also from my experience the urethane
kit absorbed(sp) more paint then fiberglass.
I havent had or my friends havent had any experiences
with the urethane kit flopping around, i guess it depends on how you
put it on the car.
i guess it all depends on what you like. Urethane tends to be more durable
but once its cracked its cracked, i dont think you can bond it like you can
fiberglass.....
again this is my experience so it may or may not be 100%, just my 2cent.

Fiberglass is easier to prep and paint than Urethane, but of course you usually have to trim it to make it fit. However fiberglas is cheaper, and yes you can usually fix it with bondo. Urethane also tends to chip paint faster than FG, and is harder to repaint as well. A well-made fiberglass kit will handle typical road hazards very well. They also tend to have more aggressive designs, as fiberglass molds are easier to make than urethane. Most people on this site go with urethane because their civics are daily drivers, so durability is their #1 concern. A lot of show cars, on the other hand, sport fiberglass kits. Just go with what you like, man.
