Nitrous Question...
Hey guys,
I have been reading several articles and reviews on Nitrous systems. And talked to several people at a couple shops as well. I know that some of you out there have installed a system into the 7th gen. The conflicting question is:
1) Nitrous is harmful to an engine and cuts life of it by 60% or more even after only a few times use.
2) Nitrous is NOT harmful to an engine if installed correctly and when regulated the engine will be fine.
So which one is it? Does it cut engine life? Or is it safe? I know that any kind of FI or mod to an engine may be harmful if it's to an extreme. But how bad is it really? It just seems like a reallly nifty (and cheap) way to add power. But I wouldn't even think of it unless I knew my engine would be ok with the added power. Also, if the engine was supercharged or turbocharged, can Nitrous be added usually without any weird stuff happening to the turbo or engine? OH, yeah one more thing, I know a couple here probably have a turbo installed on their stock engine. Who makes this turbo? And is it only for the EX engine? I ask because I have the LX. Thanks for any input!!

not again...
My suggestion is that you edit and change the word "NOS" for "Nitrous" RIGHT NOW... or the flamming will start in about 1 minute

I was under the impression that 'NOS' stands for 'Nitrous Oxide System'. My bad... Just need to get educated on Nitrous is all.

Excellent. Thanks. Do you know where I can find the dimensions of our engine compartment? Because someone was telling me the other day that a B18C5 (Type R Integra??) will fit into our cars. Hmm, I dunno about that. But just to double check where could I go to get dimensions of everything? Honda won't tell me as the tech center didn't know the answer
Thanks!
Thanks!

Yeah that link on Nitrous with engines was very good. I read it, and unless I missed it, the post doesn't say anything about eventual pre-mature wear on the engine after using it so much. I just read how unless it's installed properly, you will blow up the engine or something like that. Just trying to get to see what all my options are for power.

I think it all comes down to shot your going to use. Nitrous Express makes a kit that "requires" no engine mods, it comes in like a 25-50-75shot. its the one i plan on getting but i do plan to do some mods to the engine first cuz i plan on using a 50 shot but if i ever go out to the track i may switch to a 75. just dont use it everytime someone gives you a "wanna race" look at a stop light.
