Opinion on leather interior
Opinion on leather interior
alright I have an ex coupe, EBlueP ciVic (02). I hate the stupid beige print pattern on the seats, that comes in the OEM beige interiors. Soo, I have been looking around for a leather interior. I want black leather seats and door panels, but do you guys think that it would look fugly because the rest of interior is brown and tan. I dont think it would look bad because most of the center console and dash is black. I dont really want the cream/beige color leather, but I was just wondering if you guys think the black idea would be thaaat ugly. Also I would probably get some black floor mats as well.

Dude, I think Black leather would go
with your Eternal Blue Pearl. Dark outside, Dark inside w/ light trim. Top it off with some tint and it'd be a smash! Get riddo' that Granma look.
Down sides of leather: Temperature can really kill the apeal of leather. (I'm in NJ where the weather always changes (We experience the full 4 seasons. ) Leather is uncomfortable to sit on sometimes due to the weather!
You'll freeze your off before the heater even begins to blow warn air, in the winter. And in the summer, it's way to hot to touch at first, and after even a few minute ride, your skin sticks to it (or your cloths get moist) . I'd still rock it though.

get some black rsx type-s seats, they sell em on ebay front and rears for like around a grand. they fit with a little modification, some one on this site has it done. search, they have a red car, has the website hondawerx.com i believe, is doing a k20 swap, i forget his name. but ya, i think it would look fine with alot of black accents throughout the interior as well.
sweeet......I dont have to worry too much about the weather cause I live in southern california. As far as keeping the leather in good condition, my best friend is an auto detailer so he will take care of that.

I'm in Socal too and summer weather can really heat up that leather. I personally prefer cloth but I agree about the pattern on OEM cloth seats. On the other hand, my seats are really dark so it's not noticable. I'm sure black seat will look ok on your Eblue car.
You can alway take a picture and have someone here photoshop it!!!

My Firebird is light gray leather. First leather seats I ever had. I've never had any real problems with hot weather (except the plasic sterring wheel) on the seats. It doesn't usually get much below freezing here so I can't speak for the cold weather. Keeping it clean hasn't been a problem either. I think much of it depends on the color and quality, as well as the surface treatment of the material.

I like contast. If you have a dark exterior, keep the interior light. Go with a tan leather. In my opinon, I think tan leather would look best in a darker car. maybe this could help. later!

Getting your seats and door panels reupholstered in leather would cost just as much if not more than just buying new seats. It should be easy to find some black seats that would go well with the beige.... I don't like leather, so personally, I'd go with black Sparco Torinos.
yes I have thought about getting some black sparcos or tenzos, but that still is a lot of money after you buy brackets and sliders and stuff. A shop around here would do the full black leather, door panels, backseat and everything or like 900 or so. BUT he said the sides would be in black vinyl....is there any problems with vinyl sides?
Synical, I think dark leather interiors are the best no matter what car you have because its very hard to dirty, so any dark colors are good, you know for example you have a pen mark on your leather the sun will bake the mark into your leather forever! there is no liquid or chemical that can remove it.. Make sure you check out my post about my leather interiors.. I can custom make it in any color you like, also I have heated seats optional as well...

i was thinking the same thing about the black seats and floormats cuz i have the same problem with the tan interior on my green civic but sounds like its a good idea
some people like it better when the interior color is the opposite in lightness/darkness than the cars paint. I guess it all depends. my vic is blue and the only color I want throughout the car is black or gunmetal. I am getting some gunmetal rims, black grill, and I already painted the housing black on my headlights when I cleared them. Sooo I think I am going to go with the black. plus like tabo said, its easier to clean
