Generic vs. Brand Name strut bars

What is the real difference with lets say a Bomz 45mm upper strut bar and a Neuspeed upper strut?

There most definately a difference b/w them in quality and rigidity. If you have an AEM SRI or CAI, I think the only two types that fit are the DC Sports and the Neuspeed. I'm getting the Neuspeed one very soon; I've heard it is really the best for our cars.

Just installed my Neuspeed last night, took some nice hard turns this morning on the way to work. The difference is night and day, and I have a stock suspension. Just imagine when this bad boy is dropped and everything is stiffer....sweet.
However, I DID used to have a generic bar, and I honestly don't think there's a big noticable diff between the two in terms of performance. In theory, the Neuspeed is superior to most others in build quality and design. But really the only reason I switched is that I can't afford a DC and Neuspeed is the only other one that fits around my Injen.

This is something i learned the hardway with my other car, "YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR" you spend less money on a brand X bar your gonna get what its worth, there is a reason the expensive ones are expensive. Save up a little more and buy the ones that are worth it.

I haven’t used the neuspeed. But I have the DC and I noticed a huge diffrence in handling. Mostly in turn in. The steering is a lot more responsive. I would think in theory as long as you had a strong bar between the strut towers..that didnt allow any flex..it wouldn’t matter if it was brand name or not. But unless you have them both to compare. Your going on what others say. And actually more expensive doesn’t always mean better. A lot of times your paying for the extra R&D (and the cheap people use the R&D just didn’t pay for it) or your paying for the name brand. As far as rear strut bars go..I am completely happy with my brand X bar.

For just everyday driving would the generic brand be enough? I have a sedan so it is not like I'm going to race it, just to help the handling on the road.

if you want more handling... grab a rear 19mm RSX sway bar for 80 bucks. that'll neutral out the handling more.

works better and affects handling more than a generic strut bar or a brand name strut bar.

but yeah, a generic strut bar will stiffen the front up a bit more.

I got a neuspeed just cuz its a better design and a more solid construction than a brand name one... it still cost a bit too much when you realy think about how much it cost to make it.. oh well.

The huge difference you're noticing is in your head. The DC bar is FIVE different pieces. All fastened together. Every single joint you have allows flex. To add to that, the DC bar has holes machined into it.... removing material saves weight... but defeats the point.... because removing material reduces the area over which a force can be applied, thus adding stress... AND FLEX!

The difference is the Neuspeed bar is 1 piece and welded... No joints means no added flex from fasteners. It's the only bar links the strut towers with just 1 solid piece. THAT single fact is what makes the Neuspeed bar so much better than all of the others. And since the Neuspeed bar is only about 100 bucks.... it's a very good deal.
