Question about Muffler vs OBX cat vs HKS....
Hey, im new at this. I just got my 2003 Black civic and so far, i only got my piaa lights and aem sri. Im looking for a decent exhaust/muffler to make some nice noise and performance. Im not looking for racing, but I want that nice sound we all know and love. Heres my question. My friend said he'd give me his muffler (98 civic hatchback) which is some muffler he got from japan and some piping that he got from the midas muffler store that he got welded on when they installed it for him, he did bend he pipe but he said he'd get it fixed and he'd give me it and install it for me for 150. Or i can get a OBX Type H (HKS DRAGGER) AXEL BACK Exhaust
These are bolt on Axel Back / Rear Section Exhaust. All OBX Exhaust are constructed from SUS -304 Stainless Steel.
Specs:
1) 2.5" or 3" Exhaust Pipe depending on application
2) HKS Super Dragger Style Muffler
3) Free Flow Design!
for 179 but it says for 01-02 and im guessing it could fit my 03 cuz there practically the same car.
OR....
OBX Type H (HKS) FULL CAT BACK Exhaust
Very new, very cool OBX Cat Back exhaust. All OBX Exhaust are constructed from SUS -304 Stainless Steel.
Specs:
1) 2.5" or 3" Exhaust Pipe depending on application
2) HKS Super Dragger Style Muffler
3) Free Flow Design!
for 299 (same 01-02 thing) but i was curious if i needed the whole thing cuz i got a new car and im guessing decent pipes.
Lastly...
HKS HIPER EXHAUST: CIVIC 01-UP (REAR SECTION ONLY)
Inspired by and designed from the N-1 Endurance Race series in Japan, HKS has developed its Hiper exhaust systems for turbocharged and normally-aspirated vehicles. Like the Super Drager systems, each Hiper system is constructed using an unchambered (SUS 304) stainless steel muffler assembly, high-quality computerized welds and large diameter aluminized steel piping. However, unlike conventional exhaust systems, the Hiper muffler and tip features a unique offset mounting design that eliminates all unnecessary bends. This allows the straightest exhaust path for unrestricted flow. Two stainless exhaust tip configurations are available: 120mm and 96mm, depending on the application.

Like I said, im looking for a decent exhaust/muffler, which will work well, and I dont have to worry about having to get a new one in a yr or so. Im trying to work on a budget and not spend over 500 for like the greddy or thermal r&d. Thanks for ur suggestions. Well appreciated.

Yeah, I posted a thread asking about the HKS Hiper rear section. I haven't heard it yet, I want to hear a sound clip if anyone has one, but I like that it is a rear section and keeps the stock resonator, so I don't think I'll have to worry about headaches on the highway. Plus its crooked, looks cool, not to big. For $288 at Opt auto...I'll probably order it tomorrow.

I saw hayame exhaust on a local car here. It looked good, like a normal muffler. Also the sound was deep and loud.
I'm still undecided on which to buy.
