Civic - Full Nose Mask - Do I Need To Remove It In The Rain?

Thinking of getting this for my friend that wants it in Japan. He's wondering if he needs to remove it everytime it rains.. or is it for all weathers? Thanks!

It's an all weather thing man. Otherwise it'd be a PAIN to get it off when it rains and put it back on when it doesn't. what happens if it rains today, and it's sunny tomorrow, but rains again the next day?? Anyway, one bad thing about this is overtime, it'll give the color of your car two tones if it stays in the sun long enough.

to add to that...dirt deposits that get trap underneath tend to erode the paint away and scratch it up pretty bad.. if water gets underneath......it adds to help rust away ur paint...

Listen carefully!!! TAKE THE NOSE MASK OFF!!!!!!!!!!! U never wanna be driving around with it on DAILY!! would u ever put sandpaper on ur cars paint? well ur doing just that if u leave the mask on. dirt and other stuff gets trapped between the mask and the paint creating a sandpaper effect. the only time u want to use a mask is when ur driving long distances. if it rains and u have it on take it off as soon as u get home and clean it out and let it dry. never just take it off, let it dry and put it back on. try this next time ur at the mall and u see a car with a nose mask on, go up to it and look around to make sure noones watching and lift up the mask from one of the courners. i guarantee u that the paint under the mask is all scratched up and dull. the only reason y the owner of the car has the mask still on is cus the paint is to embarassing to show.

when i bought my prelude, the owner before me had frontal mask similar to that one on, but i took it off cuz i think it looks better imo, but when i did take it off there didnt appear to be any visable signs of wear, corrosion, or damage to the paint.

OK, Take it off!!! My paint clouded on my car because of the humidity that builds up, i had to learn the hard way. So now i don't even put it on because of the hassle(at least for daily driving) but for my long trips from KS to CO, i will put it on because of the damn semis throwing rocks and what not.

!!! OH MAN !!! DON"T BUY THE FULL BODY NOSE MASKS!!! I Bought a genuine HONDA Full Nose Mask, and they don't fit well! It's like they are a bit too tight or cut wrong. See my picture. I saw an auction for a 2001 Civic online with a nosemask as well, that didn't fit. And my friend's mask had the same problem, he bought his at the dealership when he bought his Civic.

The flaps inside the red circles are where it don't fit correctly.

They are a little tight at first, but that's because it's better to have them tight then flapping in the wind (lol), just because if there is any dirt on the underside of the mask, if the wind is pushing it around, it'll mess up the paint big time. I've got a full mask and it fit fine once I got it on there the first time. I only use mine for long highway trips, though.

THEIR A$$. The only thing their good for is long DRY< CLEAN highway trips. anything that close to your can is going to screw something up. I'ts kinda like you try wearing a bug peice of tight A$$ leather and stuff for a while and seeing how your skin feels. Just not pretty.

i recomend getting a clear bra for ur car if u want to keep it from gettin scracted up they way better then the black nasty bras they also are permantly on there so if u do a lot of highway driving u dont have to worry about chips from flying rocks and stuff
they also dont mess up the paint cuase they dont allow dirt and debris to get up under the bra and virtal invisible to the naked eye unless ur looking for it
