don't buy it. we just found out something very interesting. if you have an o2 sim ya your cel is off, but 2 things one your ecu still reads the o2 levels and knows the light sohuld be turning on you are just bypassing it hich means you still have the same effect which is nothing in a lx and dx but in the hx and ex v-tec is disabled, just that the annoying oragne light isn't on. the second thing is that for emissions they are trained to look for a sim and it is illegal to use. and whats the point in getting one since your car will still put out the same emmisions which means you will still fail the test.
where did you hear that?
i thought i read somewhere that it will correct something with the fuel MAP, and the car will run better because of the o2 sim.
btw i have a LX so the vtec thing doesnt affect me.
and i thought that the whole point of using an o2 sim was to get the CEL to turn off so that you would know if something really did happen to your engine to get the CEL to turn on again.

as for emmisions, i thought that i could still pass the pollutant level part but not the visual because of the replaced cat because its not just the cat that makes our cars ULEV. so i dont see how the o2 sim would affect that.

I have the o2 sim, it has nothing to do with VTEC!! It hooks up to the TPS and the RPM sensors, and depending on where the throttle is and RPM's are, it gives the ECU a reading for correct emissions even though the emissions arent correct, it tricks the computer into getting the right fuel maps depending on how hard you are getting on the throttle. I was quite happy with the o2 sim, and my car performed much better with the downpipe and 02 sim than it did with the stock cat. THe o2 sim has been talked about many times here and i posted a DIY somehwere, if you search you should find it.

actualy it does do something to y-tec honda made the ecu a failsafe system. if the 02 readings are wrong then it switches off v-tec so it won't hurt your car mroe just call a honda tech and ask them its even in the maintence guide you can buy at the dealerships for like 90 bucks. about the emissions you will not pass, there are different parameters set for ech motor. so being that our cars are ulev the emissions requirement is a lot lower but that also depends on where you live since some states don't require emissions at all.
