Purpose of resegnator?

What is the purpose of that? Im going to get a custom piping done and iwas wondering if they would include the resegnator or will they cut it off the stock one and weld it on to the custom one? And what happens if there's no resegnator on the TCS exhaust?

OOPS! lol. Wrong place, can someone move my tread?

i fyou dont have a resonator your exhaust will be loud and raspy...raspy as in when you go high rpm's and lift off the throttle you get a backfiring/recoil sound...i used to have a straight pipe for my resonator and ha HKS hiper rear section, it was mad loud and I could not cruise at 3am anymore so now i got a bullet glasspack reso put in place, the exhaust is smoother and the raspiness is gone

Resonator will control airflow. It decreases sound by 25-50% depending on which kind you get.

If you get custom piping you're not going to have the stock resonator. Why? You're probably going with 2.25" custom piping and the stock resonator has a 1.75" inlet and outlet diameter. It will not work.
You can get a 2.25" resonator for about $35+

No resonator + TCS = ??? Probably a little ricey... i dont know this one.

edit: Pics of my 2.25" resonator (paid $35 installed in some muffler shop)

hey Ak..i see you got the same kind of resonator I got only difference is mine is only 2 inch..since im building a custom after cat piping later, i dont think 2.25 inch will be necessary since i kinda want to keep some low end torque also. if you notice in your pic the interior of the muffler has louvers on it..i dunno if they hurt performance at all but i think they might be restricting airflow..what do you think?? other glaspacs like cherrybumbs or dynomax magnum bullet have straight thru design without the louvers..hmmm What length did u get?? mine is 12 inch..

Those louvers pull some air into the walls of the resonator hence decreasing sound. Yea i think it decreases SOME power, not but significant.

I didn't measure it, but it looked 12-14" long.
