supercharger

it looks like customized turbos are finally coming around more commonly (look at the just released nopi street performance), there was a 01 civic that was turbo'd by computech usa and had a 100 shot of nitrous, so I am assuming there are internals floating around too or that engine would have blown up on the guy)- anyway, any word on when superchargers might be available??? They seem to be the way to go, all the benefits of boost but without the added heat buildup ,or need for intercoolers, wastegates, etc, that you would get from a turbo. The immeadiate boost is nice too w/o having to wait for spool up.

From what I've heard, there is not going to be a supercharger kit for our cars. And with our engines, even if their was one it wouldn't do that much good.

I really want a supercharger cause I don't want that lag with a turbo. I guess that's what the nitrous is for.

I see this topic posted at least once every week or two. We just don't have enough room under the hood. Granted some heavy custom fabs would work but a turbo is just much easier.

So far there has been no signs of any R&D for a supercharger for the 7thGens.
Most people are going for the turbos, because they are easier to get a setup for and have more options with them.

I recently talked to jackson racing and they said they wouldn't come out with one for our engines just becuase they dont like the d17. I dont think anyone will come out with a supercharger for our cars. We are out of luck

that just sucks, yes, they are heavier, but a lot easier, bolt on and go- no turbo timers, boost controllers, waste gates, blow off valves- you get the idea, turbo is much more of a pain in the butt, expensive and difficult to set-up. Some dude in nopi performance magazine (this months issue) custom turboed his and has a 100 shot of nos, claims over 325 horsepower, didnt say nada about what internals he used, but it was a stock d17 engine, car looked pretty sweet- anyone out there see it??? I would love to know what set-up he used to get his engine to handle it. I was told that a 75 shot of nitrous would kill our engine, none the less a turbo and 100 shot

uh yeah that guy was effin around then when he claimed that. he might have his set up ready for that kinda thing but our toothpicks of rods wouldnt handle it. sure with a turbo, 100 shot of nitrous, and internals, you could have 325hp with our cars, but he shouldnt even hit that button with stock internals. and thank god jackson racing didnt make one for our cars. their superchargers blow up engines, the performance shop my cars at refuses to even install them anymore because they suck so bad. and with a GOOD supercharger you still should have an intercooler set up...cool air= good air. jackson racing's sc is just throwing hot air back into the engine...not good. and dont worry about lag, our 1.7 liter engine with a t3 will spool up around 2500 rpms, thats pretty damn good.
