Deep sound

Hey my friend had done this to his car. You know how the pipes for our muffler/exhaust is wut 2 1/4" right and he said if i get a wider piping which would allow for more free flow air i would get a deeper louder sound than stock. I know you all will tell me just to get a cat back but i think those are toooo loud!
So my question is if i just replace my muffler( the can) will the sound my car makes change? or would i have to change all the pipiing?
thnx a lot guyz

our stock exhaust is about 1.5, well...mine was. I got a magnaflow now. I won it in the raffle. it will give you some sound if you change your muffler, look into getting an axleback. it's about the same price as if you were to buy a universal muffler and get it welded on.

main difference between a loud/quiet exhaust is if they have a resonator or not...
reason why people with custom piping seems louder is they usually dont put on a resonator.. if you put one on, it should be much quieter.

I had a muffler welded on , I still had my oe exhaust from the cat to the resonator, with the resonator still on. I found that it was louder like that for some reason. but I definately was slower. I gained a little bit with my catback

just changing the muffler should change the sound as well but i think upgrading to a bigger pipe makes it sound deeper.
an axelback is usually refered to as a bolt on muffler...
cause you know how a muffler has to be welded...
an axelback is designed for the car so that no welding is need and it bolt right onto the mid pipe

I would get a Skunk2 muffler if "deep" is what you want.
