Muffler Question
so i want to get a new muffler, i dont think im going to be getting the custom piping. from what i've read, i havent seen much of a gain to get the whole cat back. can i get some opinions on which bolt on mufflers i should get i want a deep tone, not a fart noise. thank you all for your help.

sure it will. my friends integra has just a muffler on it, welded right to the stock pipe and it is just as loud as my dc tcs. i dont have any suggestions, maybe a thermal r&d muffler or apexi or something. if it is a well known company, alot of times there mufflers are pretty good too.
Just mufflers are a waste, if you are not looking for performance and you want just a "loud" "ricey" sound then spend 10 bux and get an exhaust tip. But if you want to pick up a few ponies and have a nice sounding exhaust and dont want people to laugh at you, then get a cat back...custom piping shouldn't be more than 100.00 and then you can get your muffler 50-300. so custom piping cat back (stainless) madrel bent to perfectly fit your car and a muffler will be way cheaper than buying a full setup. I got a 2.5" catback with APEXi N-1 for 300.00 installed. Beats paying 500+ for apexi to run the pipe and then another 100 to install it (if you dont know what your doing)...so my advise just get a catback...then you dont have to tint your windows to hide your face. A lot of people on this site use the HKS rear section exhaust, or the Mozart rear section exhaust. If you search for either of those names you should be able to find info on them. Check them out?

Ha! No, I'm not kidding either.
actually i noticed alot more torque steer when launching, and it likes to spin my tires where they wouldnt before the header and cat were installed... IMO there is no loss of low end, it feels like more torque so that would mostlikely be in my head therefore it is about the same as stock. High end is very very noticible gains. And if your racing how often are you below 4k? only when you launch, and first gear DOES NOT BOG!!!!!! with this setup... just my .02
