problems with indiglo gauges

I've run into a problem with my regular blue/green indiglos from autodynamic. It seems that they have a habit of flickering on and off when there is not enough power. When I was rolling the windows up and down they started flashing on and off and continued this until I turned off the radio. After the amp shut off, the gauges went back on like normal. Has anyone else had this problem? I only have one small amp and the radio is a regular pioneer 50wx4. Are indiglos supposed to do this?
