Go to an alarm shop and have it done profressionally. I have remote start on my 5 speed, they had to put a special box that reads the code off the spare key to start the car.. I have a compustar, best alarm out there by far!!!

Yeah, I'm hoping that Compustar is as good as I think.
I got the 2 way Spread Spectrum sitting in my room just waitin to be installed. The only bad thing is, I can't find anyone to install the remote start. No business around here will install a remote start on a 5-speed because of the liability or some bullshiit. So......I'm gonna have to pay $175 to have it installed, then pay one of the installers on the side to add the remote start.
For those that have the compustar......how good is the reach? Does it really reach from over a mile?

The compustar is great, havent had any problems with it at all and the remote paging is a great feature. There shouldnt be any problem installing remote start on the car, even with a manul trans. It has safety features where it only remote starts if you leave the car in neutral with the parking brake on. The car stays running until you get out and shut the door. THen you can remote start it. If you do anything different remote start will not work and it beeps 3 times meaning you can't do it. otherwise it beeps 1 time and then starts. Its a great alarm. Never gotten locked out or had any weird things happen. It works like it should. An alarm is as only as good as the install, remember that. I got mine installed in Chicago at a shop called 5-star.
