on that same note, body kits are for looks and don't do anything performance-wise but most people would agree they are not rice

i think you needed to be more specific with your definition...

um, no? RS grille = badass.

just cause you're modifying something so your car looks better doesn't make it ricey. grille, body kit, wheels, etc. you would not believe the comments i've gotten on my altezza grille, which is similar to the RS grille, just cause it looks cool.

lastly, do stuff cause you want to. read magazines and get ideas on what you want to do. to hell with what other people think, honestly.

to be frank I am tired of hearing the whole rice thing!!!! It is your ride roll it!!!!

my ride must be rice it is kitted and has indiglo gauges woops no turbo or pullies, our cars are not fast, so looks is IMO the most important thing, but someone may want to spend thousands for 180 hp, but you can buy something stock (if you count engine mods) and get something that is a lot more hp, just my opinion

You guys are getting what i said totally wrong. If you don't have a 'RS' to begin with it's like putting the SI, or VTEC badges on a DX or something. Trying to be something the car is not. (that's what i consider rice)... I never said that your a ricer cos you did it... Yes I do have indeglo gauges, and no they don't serve any performance purpose, therefor it is rice. If you read a bit closer I said, "it's your car man have fun with it"... ahh nevermind.

your car is not an RS and never will be! So why put the emblem on it? that's just as bad as putting a type r sticker on it or even a dohc sticker, come on guys, stop trying to be lame with stupid parts!

people go way over board with the term rice, and who cares what others think about your car
people need to get over the fact others have different opinions, and go on with your life, why waste time callin out others rides "rice"
please, its sooo old, get over it! its not even a big issue, i seriously dont understand why people care so much to call other stuff "rice"
sorry had to vent, this issue gets posted too many times!

i agree. anyway, i think the RS grill looks nice on sedans, especially if they put the RS-style kit on with it. it's kinda dorky for coupes, though. that's why i got the altezza grill with no emblems whatsoever

i think the rs grill is okay, but i guess i don't care for the rs part of it. you could take it off. it's not rice to me if that's what you were wondering.

why don't you get a grill that is plain, with nothing on it, just mesh? imo they look better.

The RS grill is designed only with the RS emblem. you can take the emblem off but there will be an area of black plastic shaped like the RS emblem underneath. I have the grill and would have left the RS emblem off if there wasnt a space molded specifically for the emblem. in other words, it isnt mesh underneath the emblem so most people just put the RS emblem there to make it look right.

and IMO... its not ricey. i think it looks classier and more aggressive at the same time.
here's a pic

IMO...... rs grill on 2 door = RICEY, on 4 door = tight if car has rs kit..... i think jdm should only be done to the correct car with ALL the correct parts... just my 2 cents... i dont down on ANYTHING people do to their cars, anything differing from stock is better IMO... just dont think a 4 door emblem on a 2 door is cool.,...

only my opinion too but i agree. jdm'ing your car is tight, but you cant really jdm a coupe since it doesnt exist. civic ferio rs is a sedan....but in the end, who cares. your car, your money. if you can look at it a be happy then get it. if others look at it and think rice, and it bothers you, id say get something else.

If you ask me it's perfectly fine to have an RS grill on your car since in fairness it does look good and like one of the people who replied said it gives that aggressive appearance. It'll really look best if it is on a sedan and complete with RS kit.

RS is a 4 door only. any coupe with it is just a waste of your money. go for an alteza or grillecraft grill they're nice.

RS grill = RICE. It does look nice though. My definition of rice is something added that doesn't improve performance. Bodykits are rice to, but most of them look nice. Rice doesn't mean that it looks like crap. I'm a ricer, I know it. I know my car doesn't look like crap though.

Well that's my definition of rice, I don't want anybody saying well its not rice cause of this and that... and so on. This is my opinion, and its not to start a flame war online.

If you don't agree with my opinions that fine, I'm just stating my opinion on the RS grill like the title said on this thread.

Well, if you look at it, it might actually increase performance, not noticeable but it might. The opening in RS bigger since it doesn't have the center portion as big as the stock one. Also on the coupe grill, air flows to the radiator through the lower half only while RS use the whole mesh area. i don't know about the sedan, because I have a coupe, but from pics, it does look even more restrictive than the coupe one. Not a big improvement but it's still an air flow improvement.

I also think both the stock, the RS and the no name grill look nice. I wouldn't consider them rice, but that's just me. I have the stock one.
