drop vs. stock springs question

i was thinking of getting a .8 drop w/ stiffer springs for a better launch, but my friend says the stock springs allow leway for lift so less spinning of tires. is this true? what suspension components should i get for a better launch?

aftermarket products are almost always better than stock. in my opinion a lowered car gets a better launch than a stock one. that way the back of your car doesnt sag when you take off.

unless if you have a very high powered car, i doubt it would make a noticeable difference. "allow leway for lift so less spinning of tires" that doesnt make sense... when you launch, the front of the car lifts a lil so that would give you less traction on the front tires. but ya i would think first worry about getting turbo and other engine mods before suspension if you want to worry about a good launch.

thats true....but if you lower your car you will definately feel a difference when you launch and change gears. (if you have a 5 speed)

Stiffer springs in the rear will help keep the load more evenly distributed when accelerating. Upon acceleration, the front lifts up and causes the front tires to have less traction. Stiffer springs will resist this momentum and help keep more pressure on the front. It's very simple really.

I am sure it helps some but I don't think we have quite enough power for it to make a big difference.

We do not have rear wheel drive cars here. During acceleration, the front end comes up - esp with stock springs - shifting more weight onto the back tires. does not help us here considering we need the front tires on the ground.

I have the Eibach Pro Kit springs on my car and compared to the stock springs, my car rocks about 45% Less then it did with the stock springs, between accelerating and appying the brakes. So the springs themselves will help your launch.

So having your car lowered is for the better minus the dips.

What strut-shock's do you think are the best once you've purchased the lowering springs.
I dont think lowering springs + stock strut-shock's are a good package. Wouldn't this make your car bounce much more??
