Dust Seal Cover

I just installed a Dust Seal Cover for my 2k1 Civic.

Its acts as cover for the hole in our fender well. It protects your engine bay from dust and water, other words it keeps your engine bay neat and clean.

Here are pics.

And btw, its not a makeshift or DIY. Its actually a Honda part. Made of fibergalss and rubber. It is sold at a local Honda Dealer here in the Philippines.

It is installed at the fender well. Covering the hole which houses the rack end. You'll notice on the 2nd picture the rack end and the coil springs taken from the fender assy. The 1st and 3rd pictures are taken from inside the engine bay. Sorry, the pictures are taken too close.

I think a local fabricator made the Dust Seal Cover out of complaints from 2k1 owners of engine bays being so dirty. They come up with the concept to cover the hole by the fender and the Dust Seal Cover was born out of fiber glass and rubber. A local Honda dealer took consignment to sell the part. It has no part number, not even an OEM. Its a breakthrough innovation! Kinda cool I must say.

Yes dacivic, my dealer installed it for me and for FREE. It works that way here in the Philippines, you buy something from them, they install it for you for free.

Im sure US dealers dont have the Dust Seal Cover, as I said it was fabricated only here in the Philippines and it has not yet been offered for export. Also, it is not an "official" Honda part. It doesn't even have a part number. Sorry to say, but presently the Dust Seal Cover is only available here. But if you know anyone from here, maybe you can ask them to get it for you. Its cheap only USD 21.15.

That hole is also a source of cool air under the hood though, so you get less dust, but less airflow too.
