muffler q

just wondering...
what makes a muffler sound high pitched? and
what makes a muffler sound deep?

what are the characteristics of these mufflers?

Theres actually a village of little men that live inside the muffler and when they eat their RICE you get that high pitched noise.

several things affect the sound output of a muffler:

1. the length of the muffler...the shorter usually, the louder
2. the size of the inlet piping.
3. the size of the inner core piping
4. packing material...(stainless steel wool or chopped fiberglass)
