The "purpose" of a CF hood is weight reduction, not having that hideous apperance.

if i had a nbp civic, then i would get a carbon fiber hood.. i wouldn't get it on my sat silver, but i'd say cf hoods would be tight on black civics

why qouldn't it look good. if you can barely notice that it is carbon fiber then it would look stock. the purpose again is weight reduction. it would look tight has hell with some sparco hood pins. the silver ones

I was at HIN in Dallas. I saw a 00 Black Si coupe in the parking lot with a CF Monster Cowl hood. The sun was bouncing off the hood and it gave it that shiny shimmer effect. He had the paint waxed and gleaming it looked tight. My ex was with me at the time and she could care less about cars and she was trippin off how good it looked. It was a black Si slammed with the hood and the Si wheels polished and gleamin. Trust me it looks hella tight!

I think it would look sweet. Sure you might not notice it during everyday driving but at show or in the right light it will be noticeable for sure. I have been thinking about getting one for my civic, I think my car would look awsome with one.

Just my $0.02.

Why does it appear that I'm the only one who plans on getting a COLORED CF hood? They don't ONLY come in black, ya know . . .

It depends if you're going for the weight reduction reason or the looks. For looks it wouldnt change much and IMO it would just be a waste of money if you are thinking it will change the looks of the car. But for weight reduction sure.. then go for it.. my 2c..

beefman on here has a cf hood VIS vader style it looks awsome IMO. Its like its black just like the car from 20 ft away then u get up on it and see that its carbon fiber ppl are like thats f'n sweet. It gives the car a little something extra up close. Also the vader front made his car look alot more agressive and matched his body kit more than the stock.

i like CF hoods, but only on cars that arent black to be honest. I think they look good with the color contrast. I was thinkin about getting one and painting it black to match my car, then i thought...why not just get fiberglass, and paint that? I mean the point of CF is to see it right? so i thinking painting CF is kind of lame.
Just my thoughts

in some people's opinion.......other's...It's light and strong........

Personally, on a Black car it might look OK.
But I wouldn't stick one on a white car or something......IMO I think it looks cheesy and kinda cheap......Theres alot of people around here that actually Paint there hood black......wannabe CF.
And Most people don't know what CF is....yet alone a CF hood.
So, if I got one....I'd paint it........body color......
Just my opinion though....
