Lights and exhaust???
Does anybody use the PIAA Xtreme White H4 bulbs in their car. I'm thinking about getting them, but not sure yet, do they look anything close to HID? Also, whats a good exhaust to get for the LX coupe, I wanted the A'pexi GT Spec But It's only for EX, I have an LX coupe MT. Thanks
Sometimes, I can see right through myself ...

If you're getting PIAAs, I say spend the extra bucks and get the Super Plasma or the Super Plasma GTs. These are the closest thing you're going to get to HID. They're 5000K for low and 3800K or 4200K for high beam (depending on which you get, GTs are higher). I'm not sure of these are DOT though because they're so bright. I know that the "cooler" bulbs are though.
why dont you try getting the NEW PIAA...called SPARK BLUE..they give you 7500K supposibly

Its common sense too: Any kind of color filter filters out light. Filtered out light = less light. In the case of those PIAA's, light that is not blue is absorbed by the filter.
HID lights work completely different. They look blueish because of the actual frequency of the light, not because they have a colored bulb filtering out light (aka PIAA).
For a true HID conversion, you need to spend a lot of money, cus' you can't just buy the bulb, you need to change the projector mechanism.
If you don't mind your light being dimmer and just want to go for that HID look they buy those PIAA. Just making sure you know what those blue bulbs actually do.

If you wish to look at your picture
1) Your friend's car is not facing directly toward the picture and the camera is in a direct projection towards your car. Even if yours was stock it'd look brighter.
2) HID usually use a different reflector because it has its own ideal parabolic curve separate from regular lights. Your light may be brighter because its range of reflection is more narrow, hence giving more concentrated light but over a smaller area.
The placement of a light and its projectory is a precise mathematical calculation. That reflector is not just reflecting light at any angle. The position of the lamp is also important. If you were to buy a true HID, the lamp alone is not enough, you'd have to go the whole nine yards and buy the whole set. That would cost close to $1k. Real HID's aren't cheap ...why else would only more upscale cars come equipped with them if any car can have one for cheap?

what's the degrees for? is it the higher the whiter and the lower the bluer, or the other way around? or is it just a measure of brightness?
edit: oh, and IMO piaa's are SO not worth what they cost. they'd have to last about 4-5 times longer than average bulbs

Thanks for the responses, now I think I am just staying with hyper whites. All I really want is brighter than stock, cause I hate looking at yellow lights... It breaks my heart. What do you guys think of the Thermal R&D Hyper Exhaust. I read that it's good for street performance. I'm also about to cheack out that HKS kiper that Panda has, I don't need anything crazy loud or whatever unless it comes with a silencer for road trips. Thanks
ok man i have the 2k2 civic coupe and the sunk2 is so awsome. its a must have. although i had to get it installed by a professional, cuz they needed to add an extra little piece of piping. its is loud and deeeeep. and wiht the scilencer on its barely audible. soon i hope to post pics and sound clips.
PIAA headlights basically suck. They burn out fast, fade, lose color, poor vision.
For a lot less money get Sylvania Cool Blues. The are nice blue and light up the road very well and cost less than $15 each.

The high beam and low beam mechanism and reflection method is different from a HID and the "yellow lights". Consequently, you're not going to get the correct light arc with the hyper whites, making your automobile more dangerous to drive. Simply changing your bulb into hyper-white does not improve lighting at all; as a matter of fact it makes it worse. You have to buy the projection system, high/low, wiring and all.
If changing from yellow to HID is as easy as just changing the light bulb, then why do they still sell cars with yellow lights, when everybody likes the hyper-whites more? The reason is that true functioning HID's are expensive. You're making your lights worse if you change your bulb.
Sure, hyperwhites look cooler, and look brighter if you stare straight into one head-on. The hyper white bulb itself does have a higher intensity of light, and higher lumens. But the arc, high beam and low beam aren't reflected correctly. I advise against buying hyperwhite bulbs, they provide worse vision and are more dangerous.
