Increasing HP by fooling the intake sensor

I recently bought an "Advanced Timing Kit" off of E-bay for my girlfriend's sunfire. Don't hate her for not knowing any better. I got the kit for $5 buck. It turns out to be a little electrical plug deal that you connect into the intake O2 sensor's connectors. So instead of the intake sensor sending an accurate reading to your ECU, this little electrical deal tells the computer that there is more air flowing in and sends more fuel to the engine, at least that is how I think it works.

Has anyone heard of this before? Any concerns? The piece worked. I have noticed a considerable increase in HP immediately after spending the 2 minutes to put it in. Is there something like this for my civic?

If you're not actually getting more air into the engine, then all that does is create a rich mixture and eventually, it will foul the spark plugs and create valve deposits.

Hey that chip would work really well if you add an intake to your girlfriends car now.

I have added a short ram to her car already. And yeah, Chyna is a female wrestler, but that is my call sign. You see...I'm a naval aviator. Not really. I'm in the army and that's my call sign in the field. I asked for the Rock...and I got Chyna instead. But it's still better than being called felcher which was up for grabs!!!

omg...wut is the maturity level in this room??? kindergarten anyone?

"wen do u get kool call names like.. death bringer.. or captain ownage... or Kill machine"

sounds like something the kids use to say at RECESS .... way way way back in the days of elementary school!!! come on guys, grow up!

as for CHYNA...thats just a horrible nick-name for a man, regardless of how much u like WWF. and as for the mod ur talkin about, it really doesnt sound like the smartest thing to do to ur girlfriends car... but hey, if your will to front the bill for new plugs, and any other damage u may cause from this lil mod of urs, then im sure shes cool wit it.

You don't get cool names like that b/c you just sound stupid over the radio. Degrading each other over the tactical radio and having the visiting unit hear call signs like felcher, chyna or cheese nuts is alot funnier. We portray a third world country and train american most elite light infantry units in our army, some of which are currently in Afganistan.

With a job like mine, you have to have a sense of humor. But don't think I won't hesitate to ball you up. Is that mature enough for you?
