Clear and Ion Projectors?

Can someone tell me the difference between black projectors with clear and the ones wth ion?

the projector its self is either a clear bulb or a blue ion bulb

i have the same question. whats the difference between the black housing ones and the black housing with the blue ion? does the blue ion give off a blue color?

you know how when it rains, and the oil on the ground turns purplishly, yellowishy? that's what the ion LENSES, not bulbs, look like.
clear is just clear. ion lenses have absolutely nothing to do with bulbs.
