Clutch kit out for our cars

Dunno if anyone has seen this: Clutch kit from Clutchmasters.com

I believe it'll fit our cars...does anyone know for sure or already have this?

If you click on the Stage/Kit/Price menu, it lists several different kits available.

Can someone please explain the advantage of this? I'm new to it.

I have a 2k1 Ex 5-speed.

Aside from lightweight, what are the other advantages?

I also noticed different stages, does it just mean that the higher stage you go the more abuse it can take (higher revs you can let go of the clutch) - ?

Thanks in advance.

i'm not completely knowledgeable about clutches but i think you are right about the higher reving when you let off the clutch.
as for higher stages, that refers to how fast it engages. the racing clutches engage instantly

anyone feel a major difference with a stage 3?? i'm thinking of getting a stage 3 racing/street clutch but i'm not gonna get it if it doesn't make a huge difference... i know that i'd have to get a new clutch for Forced induction.. but until a turbo kit of sc kit comes out, i don't think i have any need for one...

well you only need a new clutch if your running turbo, a supercharger, or nos........and the difference in stages is the higher the stage the quicker the clutch engages!!!!

actually, like a shortshifter (but not TOTALLY like a short shifter ) the clutch has a feel to it, that goes along with the possible performance benefit.

If you are like me, tired of your spongey clutch, then perhaps it would be in yoru interest to invest in an aftermarket clutch. If you are one of these people, issues like fatigue life and peak power transfer ability are meaningless, only the throw of the pedal itself is important.

if you are talking strictly performance, i agree with you wholehartedly. but if i personally ever get a clutch, i can tell you its not gonna be becasue of any performance benefit

The difference in the stages are 1) the amount of torque it can handle, 2) lever effort required and 3) engagement speed. I am having an ACT HC5 XTSS Clutch installed today. It will be broken in by Friday when I will be drag racing. I will let you know what difference it makes. Here is a link to ACT: HC5-XTSS. As you can see, it will handle up to 270 ft/lbs of torque. So anything more would probably be overkill on our cars. My plan is to run a 40 to 60 shot on this clutch for drag racing. If and when a reliable turbo is developed for our cars I may need to switch to a R6 disc. But then the engagement will be rather harsh and the pedal effort will be stiff and I drive this car a lot.
