last i heard JUN was still in RandD for cams for our car..I dont think I have heard about anything else...I know GUDE has stuff out but i dont know about Camshafts.

a new cam helps with valvetiming and weighs less, right? how does this increase hp?

the lobes on the cam hold the intake valve open longer so the cylinder can fill up with even more air then before - creating a greater air/fuel mixture to combust - the combustion is increased so that creates more hp. weight is not even a factor.

Combined with some other mods, such as a bigger throttle body, more and better fuel/air flow, higher compression and some additional tuning, the cam can give higher lift and longer duration of valve opening. This, correctly done = more fuel/air combusted, leading to higher RPM/fsooner = additonal HP.

This is an alternative to forced induction, which in effect, pushes more fuel/air into the engine via a super charger or turbo charger.

if they do have the same engine.. why not get the whole kit n kabootle.. maybe even JDM civic RS engine swap? if that too far fecthed.. how bout cams.. throttle bottle.. rods.. pistions.. or wutever else that makes the RS faster then us
