So where does the AEM cold air intake pull air from exactly? Looks like its gonna be near the header, that can't be all that cold. Am I right or wrong?

I am ordering my AEM COLD AIR in a few days, and im pretty sure it doesn't sit near the headers, its supposed to be lower down towards the front bumper...
From what i heard, hopefully someone who already has it will reply to this though

I have had the AEM CAI for a few months now, and I'm VERY impressed by it.
The filter sits just above the bottom of the bumper, so its as close to the road as possible, without being exposed to it directly.
The sound is sweet, the gain is pretty decent...I'd definitely recommend getting one.
Good luck in your cold air conquest.

Well I put mine on myself about 5 months ago and it was very easy.. The filter sits by the radiator and I'm thinking that it pulls air from that fan by radiator my guess but I love the sound it gives and by my a$$ dyno it improved!!
Beefman please don't buy anything used on e-bay for your engine, best bet is to buy brand new. Also order from a company so you know for sure what brand name it is, a lot of things on e-bay are knock-offs.
Beefman, for some odd reason, that CAI looks to be missing something. I can't put my finger on it, but it doesn't look like mine to me.
As for anyone that is thinking about buying the AEM CAI, go ahead and spend the extra ~$35 to get the bypass valve. It is needed and well worth the money. My intake got thirsty the other day and drank some water, luckily the bypass just let it out...whew...

d00d, can you take a pic of the bypass valve in your engine?
I bought the bypass valve, but I'm kinda too scared to cut the pipe and throw it in myself.
I don't know where it would fit, either
if anybody could post a pic and show where they stuffed theirs, that would be sweet.
thanks!
