In this Popular Mechanics article link an HKS Turbo is mentioned. It says the availability is based on CARB's decision and consumer interest. I wanted to know would you guys be interested in a turbo for our cars that produced 60hp to the wheels?

Rep Power: 0 with in the last two weeks, i called hks and their sales rep told me that they are not bring out the kit for 7th gen civics. It wasnt CARB legal and they are not going to bring out a kit that doesnt pass their states emission tests.

Rep Power: 0 ill repeat myself again, HKS is not coming out with a turbo kit. period. The only turbo kit you are gonna find is one specially fabricated from a machine shop and its gonna be around 5k.

Let me share something about the Sales Reps over at HKS.
I called about the Hiper Exhaust, "no, they stopped production on it, only the rear section is offered, and its already on a 4 week back order."
So i sign onto the website, and i ask for myself to someone of higher say. They reply with "I want to know who you were talking with, because its on its way. Be patient, expect it in June."
Those a$$e$ over the phone are just so anxious to get you off of the phone they might as well never pick it up, but they have to. I believe, dont quote me, but in the thread on the HKS website, James from Product Planning said that they are continuing R&D on the turbo kit, and to just be patient.

Rep Power: 0 when you do the port and polish (Gude package) your compression goes way up, you won't be able to run turbo. It would take more work than what it's worth to make it work. Your stock cam would work a lot better than the Gude cam with turbo also. It's a whole other ball game with forced induction. 60hp to the wheels starting out isn't bad.. then just lower the compression with a gasket, get new pistons, rods, valve sleeves.. etc. and you could push more boost and get that 100hp eventually. Just be patient. A lot of mom and pop shops making turbos for us now.. I've personally talked to two. So the big dogs will get on it eventually. Just keep checking around.

Rep Power: 0 what's the compression ratio in our cars (i still have an erection from when i picked it up at the dealer two days ago- haha)? cuz i almost bought a prelude or an rsx-s, but was cautious of the im-modibility (i'm making words up now) of a high compression engine.. if it's similarly high (12:1 range) for a civic, did anyone change their cylinder heads for their turbo? i'm just contemplating a non-NA future..

Rep Power: 0 yes, our car's compression ratio is 9.9:1 while the RSX type-s is a whopping 11.0:1!!!!! that is not the ratio you want for a turbo.
Boost, i thought milling the head increased the compression ratio. dammit, now i'm confused. so then porting and polishing the head refers to exhaust and intake openings--->then milling the head refers to.......
edit: i believe the S2000 also has a 11.0:1 compression ratio
