Rep Power: 0 One thing to rememeber is that with 205/40/17's on your ride, when your speedo reads 100 MPH you really are doing "just" 95.86 MPH and likewise if it reads 105, you're just cracking 100.
But the biggest problem down here (So. Florida) are the Canadian snow birds, they come with their cars, the speed limit on a road may be 45, they match that speed on their speedo... but they are doing ONLY 45 kilometers per hour which is like slow, slow, slow... see it all the time. ha!

Rep Power: 313 mbow, my speed in second gear VERY closely matches the rpms of my engine: 1000 RPM = 10 mph, 6000 rpm = 60 MPH, redline = 70 mph
I can hit 70 mph in 2nd gear. 105 in third is easy. its also what the car was rated for (more or less) on any online site that gives details about cars in general.

I am going to hit the highway after I pick up my wife from work tonight and see where 3rd redlines. You have got me going insane! You have a 7thgen vic right? ex?

i have a 2001 HX.
If we have teh same tranny, youll redline in first at around 35ISH, redline in 2nd at 70, redline in third at 102-107, it really becomes dependant on your redline (every car seems to be a bit different, my redline is 7100 to 7200)
which means in MY car (112 speed gov) i cant hit redline in 4th gear, much less 5th. im not joking. I'm not gonna say anymore about other websites or magazines tho, cause even tho i know ive read this in more than one location, i cant back it up. ill rely soley on my in car experience, and yours [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/IMG]

Rep Power: 0 I don't know anything about gear ratios and such but here are my findings. I was bouncing off the rev-limeter @ 55mph in 2nd gear. I reached 84mph in 3rd at 6800rpm so I'm guessing maybe 86-87 before the rev-limeter kicks. My 4th should be 102-105 at the rev-limiter. I don't normally travel that fast so I had no idea. Glad I finally know and have my sanity back. [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/IMG]
