intsalling a short shifter
I know that to install a short shifter (i'm going revo w/ kumo bushings) I have to take out the center console, but I was wondering if anybody has had any problems w/ tear or breaking the console and all that whatnot. I'm not a big fan of breaking shtuff on my car. Also is there a DIY anywhere to install all this stuff or will the instructions come w/ the stuff?

I'm sure someone has a DIY somewhere, but I haven't seen one yet.
I have the Revo in my car, and it wasn't hard to install at all.
To get the center console off, you take out two clips towards the front of the console, and two screws that are on each side of the rear of the console. Then, you pull the emergency brake up, and pop off the peice surrounding the e-brake. (the part with the cubbie hole in it) It's held on by 6 or 7 clips, so just pull until it pops off. After you have this piece off, you will see two screws just behind the shift boot. Unscrew these and the console pulls right out. You might have to lay your seats all the way back to fully remove the colsole. As far as installing the Revo, the directions were pretty straight forward.
Good luck wit tha install!!

removing the center console is super easy on our civic... when you purchase the bushings, they come with detailed COLOR (wow) picture instruction on how to remove your center console...
dont fret, its not hard at all, and unless you're using excessive force, you shouldn't break anything.
its a 5 minute-less job once u get use to it.

Yep, the instructions with the revo and the kumho bushings are some of the best that I have seen with any mod. The console is a cinch to get off and changing the revo out for the stock unit is pretty self-explanatory for the most part. The only part that bothered me was have to pull the black plastic piece around the e-brake up. It kinda felt like I was going to break it. However, a little tug and you will see how it snaps in and know just how to pull it out.
In short, you shouldn't have any problems so don't worry about it. If you do, were always here to help.
