Spark Plugs

I can't seem to find the info I want on spark plugs on this site so I'm gonna post some good info and ask some good questions.

These are the stock plugs for our car:

DX/HX/LX - NGK Platinum PZFR6F-11
EX Auto - Denso PKJ20CR-M11

I can follow the NGK's spark plug part #.

p=platinum
z=extended gap
f=ø 14, 19mm (3/4”) Reach, 16mm (5/8”) Hex.
r=resistor
6=the heat rating of the plug (NGK's range from 2-11, 2 being hottest)
f=the firing end construction code
11=1.1mm/.044" gap

Now, can anybody tell me how to read the denso plugs??

Heres what I'm guessing .. please tell me if im wrong

P=platinum
KJ=14mm thread, 16mm hex, ISO plug
20=the heat rating of the plug (densos range from 9-37, 9 being hottest)
C=electrode projection (5mm)
R=resistor
M=??some special gap configuration, but i dont know what??
11=1.1mm/.044" gap

i could be way off on alot of this denso stuff, please correct me if i'm wrong. I'm just trying to get this spark plug thing under control.

Also, 2k1KonigCivic is running nitrous on an LX, im assuming he needs a NGK PZFR8F-11 plug if he wants to stay NGK. Again, please correct me if im wrong.

Thanks,
Eric

Thanks E, I need to know this to, don't want to mess things up... let's get this figured out, I am currently running NGK BKR7ES-11's as recommended in the Nitrous thread, they are just not cold enough, I checked them after running nitrous last night and they were white as a mother.... so I know that the plug was my problem, 93 octane, octane booster and a 55 shot. So what plugs for nitrous. I heard something about not running the 11's of the NGK's but I was unsure... so any help out there?? Delecampos??

Thanks all

You oughtta get a hold of NGK's tech support. They should be able to tell you everything you need to know about the appropriate spark plug applications.

Konig... the 11's are incorrect. those are pre-gapped at .44. you want the BKR7E. the part # is NGK-6097. these come pre-gapped at .30

sorry it took forever for a reply.

Red... just go with the bkr7e's. there was a big debate over this a few weeks ago on www.clubsi.com. by reading the plug, it does indicate them to be only 1-step colder when in reference to what the manual says. however, these are pretty much the standard in plugs when it comes to nitrous and imports. they are sufficient enough for our applications. i use them and i have yet to encounter any problems. to be honest, i don't know anyone that is using 8's.

konig... i feel i am running the 75 shot as safely as i can, given the limited availability of fuel and ignition upgrades. i have yet to encounter any problems these last 9 months or so with my 75 shot. what else can i say?
