So my wife brought our dog with her in the car yesterday (this is odd because we never take him in the car). While she left him in the car for 5 minute he somehow managed to chew thru the front seat belts both passenger and drivers side. I;ve been quoted $460 just in parts to replace them. Will other makes/models/years fit a 2012 civic? Just looking to save some money here. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

They are a very complex design, sealed safety item that include belt pre-tensioners.

And built to last the life of the car.

Unless you can get the parts yourself online and have a local mechanic do the work would be the only way to save. Certainly an OEM only item.

or buy used seatbelts from a car yard and install them yourself

I looked at a 4 door car since OP didn't say what theirs is....nor do I know DX/LX/EX/Si or colors or build location, or the VIN.

7 different choices for just the drivers belt.

Picked a US built car, gray interior. $150.10 USD MSRP. Controlled order part, that means it must be special ordered for each car.
$106 through Majestic.
This particular belt fits ONLY 2012 Civic 4 door DX/EX/LX/HF, drivers side, N.A. built car.





Picked same for a Japan built car, $327 list.


Something else: The parts may need to be inspected prior to ordering. Due to the tsunami in Japan, SRS components may have come from an alternate supplier, that means they may not mix and match manufacturers for many items.
