Rep Power: 0 Bumper came off
I have no car knowledge whatsoever. I have a 2009 Honda Civic 2 door coupe. However, my front bumper has been loose for a long time and ive had to pop it back in very often. After a recent rain storm and driving through a huge puddle, my entire front bumper came off--you can see the insides, the honda emblem came off and everything. I was hoping someone could help me with what parts I need, besides the obvious front bumper. Im assuming I will also need some kind of front grille as well and mounting clips. My stepfather has put bumpers on cars before, but I am just lost at what are the parts I need.

Re: Bumper came off
there are two metal brackets, one on each side just below head lamps
all you do is slide in the bumper cover into the 'clip' on the bracket and securer the bumper with clips
looks like you'll also need absorber for your bumper

Did you look at all the bolting tabs on your bumper?? I suspect that they are likely cracked, broken or maybe even missing. I have a 2009 Honda civic and have had massive issues with the cheap bumper design. I have had to replace the wheel well liners three times now, the lower skid plate once and Honda tells me I need a new bumper. I took mine off and the upper tabs were broken, a lower tab was broken off completely. The passenger side liner was shredded and has to be replaced as will the right hand bumper to wheel well liner bracket. I damage the bumper if it snows more than 6 inches here in Canada. The car is so low it plows thru the snow and the bumber is so cheap, and poorly designed, it breaks under the stress.
I am using 5 minute epoxy and thin steel washers to rebuild the upper bumber tabs now. I reglued the broken off lower tab and tomorrow I will order a new wheel well liner from Honda. I have yet to figure out a stronger design so the bumper does not break yet again

I have the same issue with cheap bumpers. We have an ''06 Civic that does not do well in Canadian winters. The plastic skid place under the engine has now been completely removed due to damages from snow and ice, the mud guards have broken off and the front bumper has been removed from its clips on several occasions. It is now at the point that I need to remove the bumper and repair the clips or find some other solution. By the way, I baby our vehicles, this is just bad design for our climate and the irony is that the vehicles are manufactured in Canada.
Great idea with the washers and epoxy. How did it turn out?
I am going to try and use two part epoxy and fiberglass to rebuild the clips. I will post pics as soon as I get it started.
Other suggestions?
