hood won't close all the way?
hood won't close all the way?
i have a 2008 honda civic coupe and i am trying to install an aftermarket hood by myself. After installation, won't close all the way? It doesn't make the second click like the stock hood which makes the car alarm sound. I have tried pushing it all the way down, but it didn't work either.. Is there any way to fix this? I measured the hood latch part on the old hood with the new one and it seems to be shorter than the other. I don't know if that's the problem.. but is there any way to adjust it?
I have also tried contacting contact support with the hood i bought it from and they said about some bump stop can be adjustable or the hood latch can be moved up. If so, is there any tutorials?
here are some pictures to explain what I am talking about.

Pictures shown is with and without the aftermarket hood. The one that is measured 1 1/2" is the stock hood.

Re: hood won't close all the way?
Remove the plastic panel covering the latch.
Loosen bolts for latch.
Move latch to desired position.
Tighten bolts.
Check if you moved latch far enough. Close hood. Does it latch now?
Readjust as necessary until hood closes and latches.
Put car back together.

Those stoppers are there to adjust the height of each front corner when it is closed.
If the hood isn't centered, you need to make some adjustments at the hinges or the latch so it closes straight and sits flush.
Bad fitting parts look amateurish.
