Crashed, broken control arm, need some advice.

Hey everyone, I'm faced with a decision, and yeah, been lurking around the forums for a while now but just now made an account to ask a question. So thank you for your patience.

I bought my '99 Civic for about 4000, and just crashed it on the front right side going down a mountain road, slid in gravel. Crashed pretty hard, the nut holding the control arm is off and it's broken. Cosmetic damage for sure.

So basically I'm ok with not having a car for the next few years because I am a student who doesn't desperately need one, but still am not sure what to do. The guy who towed my car offered to buy it from me in this condition. If I sell it like this, how much should I try to get? Also, how much would it cost to get all of this fixed? I absolutely love the car, do you think it'd be worth it to fix it and keep it around?

Thanks in advance for your input,

George

dont drive like a hoon. lesson learn the hard way. i learned the very same lesson when i was younger but i totalled my accord instead.

the control arm isnt hard to replace. you need set of tools and thats about it. that should be an easy fix. if u do it yourself, fixing should cost no more than $500-$1000 including bumpers, fenders, control arm, suspension, etc.

u wont get much if u sell it, id say u jsut keep it, and fix it up.

if its just the control arm its not that bad considering those cars are a dime a dozen so parts can be found everywhere for cheap. you can get fender hood, bumper, headlights, at junk yards, ebay, craigslist, honda forums, www.certifit.com the suspension also. then do the work yourself its fairly easy you can have it drivable in an hour or more depending on your mechanical ability.
