Installed CAI and my check engine light wont go off
Wusup guys, I installed my CAI the other day and since I put it in my check engine light has been on. I checked previous post about the sensors and batteries but I had the battery unplugged when I installed it. I think its a sensor that I unplugged from the factory air box but I dont see any place for it to go now so I jus have it lose. Can someone tell me what to do with it. Thanks.
There is no gormet in the center of the CAI near the throttle body, what type is it?
On AEM/INJECN CAI they have a hole placed near the throttle body because that is where the air flow sensor goes, so if it isn't installed then the ecu isn't reading the airflow then you will get the check engine lite everytime.
My sugestion is:
Remove CAI
Drill a good size hole to place a gormet (Rubber o-ring) that will snuggly hold the sensor in place near the end of the tubbing that is near the throttle body
After you drill the hole, reinstall and check that the sensor fits snug
Then disconnect battery for 10 minutes and reconnect
Idle for 10 minutes, turnoff for 1 minute then turn on for one minute then turn back on to reset ECU
Then have fun.
Tell me if that helps you out and good luck.

Yea there is a rubber piece with a hole. I'm kind of new with the intakes and things. So your sayin to shove the sensor into that area and it will read it. I'll try but the wire does not seem long enough. It looks like at has to clip into something.
yea you should get the piece and fit it into the rubber hole... and i think it's short so you have to find means to cut the black electric tape and make it so that it's long enough to fit... i installed my AEM short ram as soon as it came out and i remember me and my friend had to slit the e-tape and make it so that it's long enough to fit... after that, it should be all good... unless you got a little water in your engine... then alls you gotta do is just reset the ecu and it should be okay
just plug the sensor in the hole dood...the rubber holds it in place....
here's a pic of what it looks like installed on injen cai...
here's what it looks like with an aem sri...

When I installed mine i left the part it connects to on the old intake and couldn't figure out why it wouldn't fit. Check your old intake and there should be a cone like thingy that the sensor should clip into. Just look over the old intake, Im sure it's just a stupid mistake.

i cut the clip to that wire, but i don't think you really need to...the INJEN CAI allows the sensor to fit properly without cutting it, but i cut it just for slack reasons.
When I installed my CAI, you have to instert the O2 sensor into the hole by your throttle body like your stock model had it. Once you have all the hoses and bolts installed, disconnect your battery for about 15 minutes and pull the fuse for your ECU. My fuse was a 15 watt, #6 I think. Put the fuse back in and connect the battery. Then crank the engine and let idle for about 5 minutes. The RPMs should jump up to 4000 rpms, that is normal. Then shut off your engine. You should be ok after that.
