Humming sound while steering
Humming sound while steering
I have recently replaced the power steering hose assembly with a locally assembled hose.
Since then my car started giving a humming sound. The mechanic says the sound could be due to faulty steering pump. Another mechanic says the sound could be eliminated only with the original hose assembly. I have a doubt that the abnormal sound may be due to air in the system.
Can anybody give correct solution?

Re: Humming sound while steering
just to rule out air, go to an empty parking lot and make 5-10 full point turns in each direction (steering wheel fully turned left or right). that will bleed the air. check the fluid level when the car cools down, you may have to add more. otherwise yeah its the hose.
