did you search all forums, I myself can't remember what to do, but something about bagging all electrical parts and then spraying it down, but it sounds kinda of risky to me considering the some of the engine components that remain somewhat heated after the engine is off have a likelyhood of cracking when that cold water hits it hard, anyhow, its around here somewhere, thats all I can tell you. later

dont spray the coils then water can get into the plugs. had a friends that did that and he steemed cleaned his piston heads basically. it ran like crap too. water works good and acually armor all gets rid of dirt and makes things shine. i did it today. it just takes time and you have to like getting your hand into little spaces.

I use the Megiuars black shine stuff every time i wash the car i go into the engine and anyting thats in there gets cleaned and if you take 15 mins to do it everytime eventually your engine bay looks like it did off the show room floor i have had mine for a year and its glowing more than it did off the floor

I read DO NOT use Armor All. It will eat through something in your engine bay if you do use it. I just put a plastic bag over my battery and spray that bi0tch down at the car wash.. Works good too

Start the engine, spray the engine, close the hood, wash your car, when ready to dry, turn off the engine. The heat from the engine will help dry it, when done drying your car, open the hood, dry water that hasn't evaporated with a rag, then use CD2 engine detailer. That's how I do it. There's more on engine detailing here: Autopia Carcare

I pretty much just dust off everything and then I add a little bit of Armor All to everything thats black. It comes out very clean

i use some foaming engine cleaner thing i got from wal-mart, followed by a gentle rinse. not extremely shiny, but it does the job.
