Red face 1996 Civic DX

Today I am buying 1996 Honda Civic Dx. It is a small 4 Cylinder and i am wondering what parts I could put into it to make it a little faster and more powerful?
Sites where I could buy parts would be really nice. Thanks.

Re: 1996 Civic DX

no real simple bolt ons i/e/h will really give you any gains...

if you want to add some power, put a turbo kit on it, or swap the engine. thats about it.

Hi,
I am new to Hondas; got my '96 Civic DX hatchback almost a year ago. It is a 5-speed manual, and manual steering joy to drive. I would like to get some more kick out of it, though. I looked into cold air intakes. K&N doesn't make one for this year. I could get their oil impregnated air filter, but I don't think that would make much difference over a new cheaper air filter. I thought about researching headers and exhaust system mods -- have researched a little, but no real conclusions yet. Your advice to add turbo intrigues me. Do you have a recommendation for a particular brand of turbo kit? I just need a point in the right direction to a good company for a turbo kit.
Thanks a lot!!!
