koni shocks/inserts

Has anyone had experience installing koni shocks/inserts? Have they worked out well? Is it a straight forward installation even though you cut off a portion of the strut?

Didn't you guys need to do a wheel alignment when you replaced the struts? That I know you can't do yourself...
