18 inch rims?

Everyone I've asked including guys at tires stores etc.. have told me that 17 inch rims are the largest rim that will fit a civic. Well I couldn't help but notice alot of guys here at the website that are rollin on 18's. Is there alot of modifications that must be donw to fit 18 inch rims on a 01 civic?

There is no mods you have to do.
I have 18" wheels with 225/40/18
and I don't have any trouble except that it sits it up off the ground more.

yea some guy tried to tell me 18's were too big and that i'd have to roll the fender. the guy was totally wrong. 18's with 215/40's are about the same as factory rims and tires, if you think that is too big go with 215/35. well anyway, i still have plenty of space with my 18's. just use the tire calculator on this website, it'll proove everything.

some guys at tire rack told me that we could fit up to a 19 well but it would definitly rub. The ones i'm getting are 18 x 7 1/2, these will fit easy on the car.

You can get 19s and still drop it no more than 1.5 inches The Wings West Kit is on 19s with the Eibach Pro Kit
