Hey guys..I am most definately asking this as a repeated question.. or something similar..but here goes..My car needs a new battery but I want something decent because I eventually plan to get a better alternator as well.. since I only have cash for a battery now what battery should I get any reccomendations or first hand accounts?

you have an 04 and you need a new battery? i have an 03 and mine is still going strong. i used to have 2 12" subwoofers in there also. now i only have one. maybe yours still has a warranty. but i say just go with a walmart battery, people have had bad experiences with optimas. and you really dont need a great battery or even a better alternator unless you're running some serious stereo equipment.

I'm in a similar boat. I need a new battery for my 02 civic. But I don't really need a bigger battery but a good RELIABLE brand. So is walmart battery a good one. And what are some thing to look for when buying a battery. First time replacing a battery.

P.S. Roughly how much is for a new battery???

stock battery is fine. just buy a cheap $40 walmart battery

if you can find me a thread dealing with new bateries I will be happy to look there instead..so should I just get some duralast battery then? and how can I know if my battery is under warranty? I bought this car second hand from a dealer. Does Honda have a certain warrany on their batteries? Thanks

What's the use of making a battery thread on stock or stock like batteries?? Its like asking what's whether you should buy AA duracells or AA energizers. Its all the same crap.

Just use any battery if you don't want an upgraded one.

ive had the durlast from autozone and it worked great until my subs kept draining the battery so i upgraded to a optima yellow top and its even better.

autocraft silver ftw from advance auto. $50 and 2 year warranty. worked better than my optima ever did. lead-acid ftw. you just need to learn how to treat a battery properly and it can last a long time.
