Can You Put a Larger FIlter on a Intake Tube?
I ahve a 2.5" intake tube and i got a 3" filter would it fit on the pipe or it would not be worth doing it?.. becuase my friend bought and intake and now he doesnt want ti so i thought i could use the larger intake filter? would that make a difference?

about .5" of difference.. I wouldn't do it
if you don't have a snug fitment of the filter onto the tube you might suck undesireable stuff into your IM

Those filters will pass more air through them than the engine can ever use. It doesnt matter if you put a bigger one on there, the one on there is big enough.

Okay, the point is that the filter will do nothing but dangel on your intake pipe no matter how tight you set it- you cant force the filter to fit a pipe half an inch smaller- at best you'd fold the inlet on the filer so be able to get it on the pipe, but thats way past half assed. You probably couldnt fit a bigger filter in the bay with out it rubbing on the battery and a few other things anyways.
