I think these are going to go nice with the black housing projectors, full tint, and black 5 spoke motegi 17's with polished lip

I may eventually paint the black shroud to match the body color...haven't decided yet







I was about to flip out when i got the box and it had chrome tail lights on it, but everything worked out.

P.S. here is a little sneak peek on the fiberglass box I am making for the trunk.

not my style, but i'm not going to flame. when i saw those, my only thought was "why couldn't they make the leds in straight lines, instead". but, it's your car, obviously, so enjoy your new tails. Of all the colors available for those tails, i do like the black best. Thank you for not getting the chrome ones.

I know....my heart sunk when I saw the chrome ones on the box....

On a positive note... I found out that these LEDS are not soldiered to the circuit board, and can be individually replaced if necessary. Nothing could be worse than having these taillights with random leds out with no way to replace them.

Any thoughts on disassembling them and painting the black housing body color?
Also looking at that last picture I think it would look badass with a CF trunk.

i'd keep 'em black. painting them the same as the body MAY work on a full show car, with a body kit, etc., but for now, i'd leave them as is. i agree, they'd look good if left black, and paired with the cf. i think cf on red cars is pretty hot.

idk are those even bright enough? i think the style is nice, but maybe you can replace the leds with some real superflux leds

I've heard they are actually pretty bright. We'll see tonight when I put up night shots with an actual digi cam. I wouldn't go by that quick shot I took on my phone at an awkward angle.

Its cool that is a possibility to swap them all out though if I wanted to.

I don't like the spoiler though, that's just my Opinion. If you go with the whole red/black theme then it would look Nice. I think it would also look good with a carbon fiber hood & trunk, I have to see how it looks like when it's All together first

Since your car is Red you can do alot of things. Stay with the 04/05 tails since your car is red, and the tails are Red also. You can smoke out your OEM tails, which would save you money and look clean, And, it would look good with the red/black theme.

You can also get these LED tails and leave them how they are. Or you can smoke out the middle. So it would be red/smoked/red....



Or you can also get the tails that you picked. As long as it matches & it flows then it would look Good.

^^^^when did drew get led tails??? anywho im not a big fan of those tails but if you like em thats all that matters. i think they might look better if you tinted them with cutouts for the reverse light.

Yea I think it's photoshoped, I found this pic on this site. But they sell LED Tail lights that look just like that on Ebay. red/clear/red. etc...



I think SEIBER84 already bought the black led tails. I think it would look a lil better if he smoked out the reverse light. I have to see a photshop or to decide..

I have already purchased and installed these tail lights.

I still have extra cans of VHT nightshades that I could use from my last car...

Can any of the local photochoppers help me out and give a preview?

Also If i could get a photochop of the cf trunk that would be awesome, there was just a post not too long ago about someone in an accident who replaced with a CF trunk...there were a bunch of different angles too if that helps.

see if you can change the red halo in the tail light to a glow in the dark blue one like the halo headlights...then u would have some snazzy lookin' tails...and change the red led's to blue...damn, that would look pimp if it were legal...

They look good man. I was curious about them myself, but will probably end going with the other ones in this thread. Either that or the stock '04 tails. I really like those as well. Currently rocking blacked out stockers though.

They are always on eBay. They are of course the most expensive set though. They go for about $175

Just search for "05 civic led black tail"
