Transmission
Transmission
I had my '00 civic's transmission "diagnosed", with the result being: my clutch is bad and some forks have gone bad too. What is the best thing to do in this situation? They estimated the parts and labor to be between $1400 to $2400. I have been looking online and see that I can get a used transmission for my EX between $500 to $1500, and a new clutch kit between $150 and $400. They estimated the clutch alone to be $700-$900. Does it really take 5 to 7 hours to install a clutch?
Where are some good places to look for a replacement transmission? As well as a clutch?
To describe the problem: When I shift from 2nd to 3rd, the tranny grinds. From 3rd to 4th, it will grind when I release the clutch, and sometimes pop out of 4th.
What do I do?
