Not legal... but the chances of getting a ticket arent that high unless you go really dark. Take out your tail lights, throw them in the oven, break them apart at the seal, and apply tint. Put them back in the oven, close them up, install. You might want to add new silicone when you put them back together, in that case you dont have to put that back in the oven when you close them. For more info on how to apply a tint, just look at any DIY for tail lamp tinting.
get your bowls and chopstix ready because I smell rice... imo dont black out your tailights, it looks tacky, really rice and can be very dangerous
. Someone might not be able to see your brake lights and accidently hit you from behind... but hey, thats my 2cents... do w/e floats your boat bro.

and if u do decide, spend teh extra money to get it professionally done...it should cost around 100$
if u do it urself, it wont look at good......and a perfect waste of an OEM tail light
(if u DIY its usually dull n nasty looking)
i was able to make mine shine i just say diy. and if ya dont like it take it off with rubbing alcohol. i used pactra window tint. just clean really well and make sure no dust is flying around

I've seen most of the tints for taillights in a spray can form. I don't think it's ricey. Nor do I think it's Illegal. I believe that most inspection requires the reflector part of your taillights to be visible. And as long and you can see that it should be ok.

I like my blacked out tails.....Vinyl kit, not rattle can or window tint. Although mine is an '03 EX , I imagine someone out there makes a vinyl kit for yours.
