to answer my own question ... yes its the cold that kills the indiglow.. i staid inside the car with the heat on until like it was 100 deg inside the car.. the turn the short lights on.. and there it was .... alive and well

those are the AC autotechnic right? if so, i have some other AC aauto gauges, and they stoppped the brightness of blue, so i run green. i hate em, but too lazy to remove. so i say go with some leds in the dash or get a different cluster. the 05 cluster is nice...but yeah. i think these just burn out after time... mine seemed too. i ran them bright!

mine used to work fine below zero. indiglo uses electricity to excite organic phosphor chemicals, so there is no way heat would affect the lighting. now maybe the inverter is just crappy and not putting out enough power or working properly. i wouldnt expect much quality from those gauges anyway. you can try a different inverter but idk, its just bad hardware.

well they are all really sketchy, i had the full face ones and they lasted a year or two before i took em off, never had problems but the worst ones are the inverter with the crappy sliding switch. some of them have better inverters, i wanna say just buy a quality inverter and run em off that, cause the actual gauges dont really fail for a very long time, its almost always the inverter box. but its kinda tricky to rewire it to a new one.
