Where do i put double sided tape when installing the RS Front LIP???

Ok, i have a replica of the RS front lip (aka the oem front sedan lip found on the 2002 civic lx sedan sport edition)

anyone know precisely where double sided tape should be applied? i want it secured but i dont want tape in places where it'll cause fitment to be a problem.

it's exactly like this lip optionjdm sells(note it's not really a type-r lip..optionjdm is just stuipd)

i would apply tape in these areas, might be a little bit too much but its always good to have more than not enough

i'm sure honda uses more tape than that....honda usually uses long strips of it so you can peel back a tiny bit of the backing, fit the lip then pull the rest of the backing off...

i put the honda aero lip on my car, it had spaces marked out where you put the tape on and it was in the same places that i pointed out to you up there...it just 3m molding tape

the squares arent the length of tape, its just showing you where to put it...you can put however long strips you want

Making brakets > Tape...I think taking the extra time to make a few extra brackets will pay off when you have to part out your car someday....but thats just me...

You dont have to use tape, you can just mount it on and hold it with 2 screws at each end. That's what I was told with my type r lip. If you hold the lip too tight (taping it down), if you hit anything with the lip, you have more of a chance it will crack since it wont be able to flex.

the plan is to use the method that is close to stock as possible...that means, i'll be using screws on the underside just like the oem lip but the top part is supposed to be taped onto the bumper to reduce gaps....

also, i dont want to skip out on the tape because i dont want the thing rattling around...

d17acivic is an unknown quantity at this point
zip ties work good too just loop through the factory bumper and the lip through holes that you could drill in both (on the flange that is in the back of the lip and bumper)

Tape makes a gap, a gap filled with tape.....1/2 of the reason I decided to go tapeless was to make it fit closer to the body.......you cant move or rattle my lip if your life depended on it......if your worried about vibration a few postage sized pieces in the right spot will cure that......tape works well..it's just not the best solution as its removal is just about the worst thing I can think of spending an afternoon doing..

EDIT: I just noticed your in Western Canada......if your from Vancouver you can take a look at my setup and I'd be happy to help with installing your lip

well, my lip is an oem replica so in theory it should be possible to mount it the same way as an oem one...the oem one uses double sided tape along w/ a bunch of screws...the oem one also fits perfectly w/ no gaps...

the lip is already painted...i'll prollly try to install it on the weekend..
