Remote Start AL-1000-E
Remote Start AL-1000-E
Hi, I have the Omega AL-1000-E alarm system installed on my 2005 manual transmission Civic...I got the alarm installed when I bought the car; however, I didn't get the remote start option because they wouldn't install it for me (leagle reasons)...My salesman said he could get someone to install it for me outside the company; however, while I was doing my research, I figured out that the add-on remote start to that system (RS-4LX) is not safe for manual transmission vehicles. I emailed Omega and they told me that I would have to install the Omega Max-E alarm with remote start in order to saftely install remote start. Does anyone know if I can add the RS-4LX to my existing system and still allow for safe operation? In other words, is there a certain way of wiring it so it won't start the car if it is ever left in gear? (I usually park in neutral with parking brake on, but I would like to know just in case).
Thanks in advance!

They do have newer alarm models that are made for manual transmission vehicles such as the Omega AL-2000-E or the Omega Max-E; however, I don't want to have to change my whole alarm from AL-1000-E to one of those just to add on remote start, not worth it. If there is any other way without changing the alarm, please let me know. Thanks.
