Rep Power: 0 If you are thinking of replacing the crank pulley with an underdrive unit it depends ... does the new crank pulley have a dampner on it? The stock unit does. I wouldn't recommend using one without. It will reduce the life of your engine.
These Honda motors are able to spin to high rpm based on their balanced rotating components (i.e. crank, rods, pistons etc.). Without a dampner on the pulley, it could develop vibrations which will eventually cause problems in your motor. This is why AEM only underdrives the accessories, and not the crank.
